Jessica Jenyns is a mixed media Artist based in York, North Yorkshire.
Jessica was born in Yorkshire and spent her childhood either outdoors or creating papier maché castles, fairy houses made from sticks and mud and everything in between.
University was an incredible place for Jessica's creativity to really bloom and she would often choose to make Fancy Dress costumes over her studies.
Jessica has lived and worked in York, London, Oxford, Austria and Germany. In 2019 she became self-employed which was the most natural progression. She wanted to do something magical and challenging which would bring people joy and which she would find fulfilling.
Her work has been mainly commissions including animal portraits and 3D Needle-Felt sculptures.
Jessica has always loved painting and grows more confident every day. However it’s only in recent years that she discovered Needle-Felting.
Jessica loves the medium and finds she can express herself beautifully with the wool. The colours and tactile textures are unique and Jessica loves how playful she can be with the materials.
Jessica also has an online, Etsy Shop where she sells original artworks, prints and handmade greetings cards.
Jessica adheres to a commitment to the environment, applying an environmentally-friendly ethos to everything she engages in.
January 2020 saw Jessica reach out to Ribble Rivers Trust in Lancashire, whom she has now designed 3 sets of eco-friendly, greetings cards to raise money for this amazing Trust.
